Both of Whedon's Marvel books have two things in common, severely hampered shipping schedules and the fact that they're both really good.

Of course Astonishing is far and away the better of the two. Though I think Whedon has a good handle on BKV's characters, the main problem here is that there is too much going on, and the gaps in shipping leave me wondering who the fuck these people are? Seriously, I forgot about every character in the book besides the Runaways and the Yorkes'. A few I remembered as I got through the issue, but most of them are still blank slates to me. I'm excited for the next issue now, but by the time it actually comes out, I'll forget again. you'd think with the writers' strike giving Whedon and company so much free time, they would have finished the comics that were due--- I'M LOOKING AT YOU, DAMON LINDELOF (ULT. WOLVERINE VS HULK)!!

Every issue feels like I'm in the middle of the Tabula Rasa episode of Buffy.
